Pride in London - one of the biggest Pride events in the world!
Drawing crowds of over 1.5 million and visitors from all over the world, London Pride is a blast.
The parade features thousands of participants marching and dancing over several hours, with the parade crossing a 3km route through Mayfair.
London Pride has lots of events happening over city. During the day there are 5 key hotspots to check out:
In each of these locations you will find lots of gay merch stall, food vendors and some great spots to grab a drink. Stalls are open from 12pm until 8pm.
They also have other fun activities such as street comedy drag shows and live music. A must if you are in the area and have some time to explore.
Its a short walk between these areas 15 minutes at most total walking from Soho Square to Trafalgar Square, the longest distance.
When the Parade finishes and the stalls wind down London is a great location for a night out. With a great selection of gaybars you’ll find plenty of places to enjoy some drinks and dance the night away.
My boyfriend and I plan to visit London Pride this year, if you are also planning to join the fun look out for us in Gay Pride Worldwide t-shirts in Admiral Duncan or on the dancefloor in Heaven.
Looking at the whats going on this year, we are planning a rough outline of the day to try and make the most of it.
We plan to arrive in London and get to Soho square from around 11:30. This is the furthest point away from the parade route so this seems like a good place to start.
Once we’ve explored Soho Sq. we will head across to St. Giles to see whats happening in this area.
After seeing whats happening at St Giles we will more than likely stop at Admiral Duncan, for one (or two) drinks on the way to Leicester Sq, then onto Picadilly Circus to see the Parade.
The parade route is 3km and is a 40 minute work at a steady pace, I imagine the parade pace will be much slower so I dont expect the front of the parade to reach Picadilly Cirucs until at least 12:30.
We plan to watch the parade from Picadilly Circus or along Haymarket though we might move along if crowds are too crazy. I imagine Haymarket will be packed as this is where the Grandstand is located.
From here we will head across the Leicester Sq then onto Trafalgar Sq to have a look whats going on in those locations. It seems like Trafalgar Sq is the main hotspot London Pride, its also plonked on the parade route so it will be busy around here.
Later on in the day depending on how the day goes we may venture to Golden Sq, but this is marked as a family area, so we will see.
Once we feel like we’ve had enough of the parades and stall we will head back to Soho area to explore the bars, find a list of gaybars below. We will most certainly be heading back to Admiral Duncan for more drinks, provided we can get in, its a tiny pub so we will likely have to queue.
Heading towards midnight we will most likely head down to Halfway to heaven bar for one drink before heading to Heaven night club to party into the early hours. Check tickets for Heaven they may ticket entry. You will have to queue for Heaven and be advised the queue moves slow.
The London Pride parade will take place on Saturday June 29th at 12pm starting at Hyde Park Corner and ending at Boardway & 2nd Avenue .

Looking for other entertainment options in the local areas? Here's a list of local gaybars in London:
4pm - 3am
A fun place to have a drink with a mix of entertainment including karokee even male dancers. It has a quiet area at the back if you want something more relaxed.
1pm - midnight
A great place to hang for some drinks, with an outdoor courtyard and several indoor bar areas. Perfect for warm summer days. This place gives off good vibes. This is a great place to sit and chat with friends.

12pm - midnight
Admiral Duncan is a really fun place to head for drinks for some fantastic live drag performances. It's a small pub and quickly fills up, it can feel crowded but I can highly recommend this place. It's my favourite gay haunt in London. This place closes at midnight so don't leave it too late! It is very popular so be prepared to queue. Drinks are reasonably priced for London
Closes 1am
A good place to head if you are looking for a dance early on. This place plays a good variety of music and has a good vide. I wasnt huge on G-A-Y but I cant put my finger on why, its still a fun place to drink though.
10pm - 5am
Heaven is a night club open 10pm til late. Heaven has a great atmosphere and a large dance floor perfect for throwing some shapes, it often has some fun (and random) guests appear on stage during the night. Drinks are standard for London. Queues can be long so be prepared to wait, bring a jacket if its raining.
